Hello, I’m Kristin! I specialize in teaching children’s yoga in Spanish, offering a playful and unique way for kids to learn language through creative movement. My classes provide a nurturing environment where children can explore yoga while developing mindfulness and language skills. I blend gentle sequences with fun, interactive activities that foster both physical and language development.
Yoga entered my life through my mother during my teenage years, and it grew into a deeper passion as I studied yogic philosophy with my teacher, Poonam Gupta. I completed my 200-hour certification in 2010 through Kanyakumari Ayurveda & Yoga Wellness Center. Inspired by this experience, I also pursued a degree in philosophy at Indiana University Bloomington.
After graduation, I spent four years in Asia teaching English and coaching swimming, where I further explored mindfulness through Buddhist practices in Japan, Thailand, Nepal, and Laos. These experiences continue to inspire my teaching, especially in how I incorporate mindfulness into both yoga and my daily life.
As a mother, I’m deeply committed to raising my child with the gifts of mindfulness and bilingualism from an early age. This work is personal—these programs are crafted with care for your children and mine, with the intention of nurturing mind, body, and soul through joyful, high-quality experiences.
In addition to children’s yoga, I teach high school Spanish, which deepens my understanding of how language and movement can complement each other in learning. I’m passionate about offering a holistic approach that supports both physical and cognitive growth for my students.
I’m registered with Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT 200 and YACEP, and I hold certifications in Prenatal Yoga and Children’s Yoga. I also offer private sessions, special events, and Continuing Education for yoga teachers.
The name Caterpillar Yoga reflects my belief in transformation—just as a caterpillar becomes a butterfly, yoga helps children transform through movement and self-awareness, one breath at a time.
