Hello, I’m Kristin! I’m both a yoga teacher and a World Language educator, and my passion lies in weaving the two together. Over the past 15 years I’ve taught yoga, Spanish, and English as a Second Language to learners of all ages. My children’s yoga programs are especially close to my heart: they offer a playful way to nurture mindfulness and self-awareness while also introducing kids to language in a natural, engaging way. These classes blend gentle sequences with interactive activities that support both physical growth and language development.
Yoga first entered my life through my mother during my teenage years, and it grew into a deeper passion as I studied yogic philosophy with my teacher, Poonam Gupta. I completed my 200-hour certification in 2010 through Kanyakumari Ayurveda & Yoga Wellness Center—an experience that also inspired me to pursue a degree in philosophy at Indiana University Bloomington.
After graduation, I spent four years in Asia teaching English and coaching swimming, where I had the privilege of studying and practicing within Buddhist traditions in Japan, Thailand, Nepal, and Laos. That time continues to guide the way I weave mindfulness into both yoga and life.
As a mother, I am deeply committed to raising my child with the gifts of mindfulness and bilingualism from an early age. This work is personal—my programs are crafted with care for your children and mine, with the intention of nurturing mind, body, and soul through joyful, high-quality experiences.
In addition to my work with children’s yoga, I teach high school Spanish, which continually enriches my understanding of how movement and language complement one another in learning. I am registered with Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT 200 and YACEP, and I hold certifications in Prenatal Yoga and Children’s Yoga. I also offer private sessions, special events, and Continuing Education for yoga teachers.
The name Caterpillar Yoga reflects my belief in transformation—just as a caterpillar becomes a butterfly, yoga helps us grow through movement and self-awareness, one breath at a time.
